Remember the George Carlin line about the major difference between football and baseball? In football the objective is to score a touchdown while in baseball the goal is to go home! Who can’t relate to that?!
This morning Pam and I leave Florida to return home where tonite I’ll be back at Buzzy’s Country Store slinging Budweisers. No matter where I go or how long I stay I’m always ready to go home. It’s good to get away but it’s great to come home.
Home is the most powerful word in the world in that it resonates the same with everyone everywhere. For me, walking Bruno in and around the fields and woods at the Store where I grew up feels like coming back home. It brings back warm memories of the neighbors – the Prices, McCoys, Deans, Fenhagens and just down the road apiece the Whites, Gaskins and Bryants. Who says you can’t go home?
Last Sunday while driving to Key West with John and Lenore we were talking about something that led to this mention of going home when Lenore pushed a couple buttons and immediately played the Bon Jovi duet with Jennifer Nettles (video below.)
