One of my Four O’Clock Club members Charlie Simms has talked about his Navy days when he was assigned to a unit tasked to fly VIP’s around the world. Yesterday Charlie brought me this picture here which was taken 1963 at Orly Airport, France. Charlie & company had landed and the Kennedy’s (that’s Ted’s wife Joan in the pink coat) had just gotten off the Navy transport when this photo was taken. Charlie was dressed in civilians and not wearing a uniform since they were doing a Congressional Junket Visit.
