Here is a photo from Regina Hammett’s notes and files on St. Michael’s Church. The photo was taken from atop the school. Note the old trees in the parking lot along with the three pairs of nuns walking towards the school. There is probably a good analogy to be made about trees and nuns. If the literary blog muse were to inspire me, I would develop it along the lines of them standing tall and strong and serving us so well for so many years but are now all gone. Something like that anyway.
Given that today’s St. Michael’s parking lot is both treeless and nun less, but paved and very neat, think I like this 1946 version much better.
