Ned Pratt brought in several photos that he had taken of the Pt. Lookout Hotel before it was torn down in the 90’s. I’ve included these in the following slide show along with a couple others courtesy of Cora Lunsford. Also, here is a good article on the hotel written by its last owner Alan Brylawski click here.
Another observation involves the architectural similarities between the Pt. Lookout Hotel and Leonardtown’s St. Mary’s Hotel. Both were built around 1920 and have several common features. One very noticeable difference however, is that Leonardtown’s had what appears to be a widow’s walk on its roof while Pt. Lookout’s did not. Leads one to wonder if perhaps the Pt. Lookout ladies didn’t care if their dudes came back or not.
