Oscar Wilde

Someone asked me where the “Life is too important to be taken seriously” quote came from  in a previous post.  As much as I’d like to claim it, I have to confess that I lifted it from its originator  Oscar Wilde who had many great quotes click here for more.

Buzzy and I toured Dublin as part of our visit to Ireland in 2004 and from our tour bus I grabbed this shot of the statue of Oscar.  Our tour guide noted that locals refer to the statue as “The Fag on the Crag.”  Hence, I’m sure Oscar wouldn’t have objected to my taking the photo of him with two strapping Irish dudes working on a truck in front of him.   For more info on Oscar and his statue  click here.
Another Oscar quote I like is this one:

Women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does, and that is his.
