Paradox vs. Irony

Paradox?

My previous post  about the “paradox” of children trying to help out when they are unable to do so etc., caused me to do a little research as to the differentiation between the terms paradox and irony.  I remember reading a review of Alanis Morissette‘s “Ironic” where the author questioned Alanis citing examples as ironic when they really weren’t click here.  (Don’t think her examples were exactly paradoxes either however.)  Hence I was aware that there was some differentiation between the terms but obviously, I never mastered it.
As for defining what is a paradox, think I’ll stay with the Ridge boy waterman’s response that it’s “Two piers.”  However, check out the following video that tries to clarify all of  this.
