I guess there is a ray of hope in that Maryland went from being ranked in 2010 as the 5th worst state to retire in, all the way up to being ranked #6 in 2011. Hopefully, the upward trend is right on, but don’t count on it click here for story.
With Maine ranked #1 worst, Michigan #2, Massachusetts #3 in the rankings and Maryland at #6, one could make a case that it’s an “M” state issue. However, Missouri and Mississippi are actually ranked in the top ten best states to retire in click here and Montana and Minnesota are in the middle of the rankings. Thus, we can’t blame it on the letter M per se, unless one wants to point out that our Governor’s name is O’Malley.
