I’m not a big fan of Cracker Barrel for a number of reasons but primarily because of their “old country store” claim. Yeah, right. Cracker, please!
So when folks in Buzzy’s Country Store the other night were talking about looking forward to the opening of the new CB just north of Lexington Park, I had to bite my tongue. What I really wanted to interject was something along the lines “Look people, getting a Cracker Barrel is not something that we should be feeling good about. In fact, it just moves us one step closer to becoming Waldorf South.“
Given that, I really enjoyed this post on the Tall Timbers Marina Facebook site. Right on!
“GOOD GOD, did you see a new restaurant being planted on 235 again? it’s like a garden of the same old same old. Have you ever met the owners of these chains? Have you ever met the cooks at these chains? Have you ever met the servers or seen the same servers when you returned to these chains? CHAIN, CHAIN, CHAIN, CHAIN OF FOOLS! YOU JUST CAN’T BUILD OLD, YOU HAVE TO EARN IT! You can have all this and more at THE RELUCTANT NAVIGATOR RESTAURANT & TALL TIMBERS MARINA, celebrating 52 years of the same mis management. When you come in you are met with a genuine smile and “how you doin'”, a hand shake and we most likely know your name. You have a COMPLAINT, or COMPLIMENT, TALK TO RICK.”
