WKBW – Joey Reynolds

Someone pointed out to me that I improperly identified Joey Bishop as Joey Reynolds in my post the other day on the Texas Rio movie. Honest mistake for me because Joey Reynolds rates way above Joey Bishop in my celebrity index.

When I was a kid growing up at the Store, each night I would tune into WKBW broadcasting from Buffalo and listen to Joey Reynolds.  He was a “shock jock” before anyone knew what a shock jock was.  Following is a description of him from Wikipedia:

He rose to fame as a Top 40 radio personality during the 1960s and 1970s, amassing huge audiences in places such as Hartford, Connecticut, Cleveland, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan, and his hometown of Buffalo, New York. Reynolds is often regarded as the originator of “shock talk radio”, whose sometimes outlandish on and off-air stunts garnered widespread publicity.

Here’s a look at him today click here.
