Scheibles at Sunset – Dwayne Cantrell

 I grew tired of sunset photo’s many years ago.  For the most part, I tended to lump them into the “seen-one-seen-’em-all” category.  Here is a good article on “boring sunsets” click here.   (Mick’s line “The sunshine bores the daylights out of me,” comes to mind.)

Deep Creek Sunset – Ryan Ridgell

However, there are some shots of setting suns such as Dwayne’s above and my daughter Ryan’s here to the left that still manage to catch my eye.  I think what I like is not so much the photo of the sun itself,  but the other things in the photo that make you want to look a little closer at what’s going on.   

Below is a sunset shot I took in Honolulu a few years ago.  The pony tailed young lady to the left was not Ryan; she  would have been lugging a surfboard versus a beach chair.
