With Some Direction Home

Following my post yesterday about adding onto the west side of the Store, some directionally challenged (GPS-less?) individual asked me which was the west side.  Like Buzzy was and like I try to be, the answer is rather straight forward:  the Store is positioned such that its front faces  north.  Thus, the west side of the Store is the side opposite the roadside.

My bedroom growing up at the Store was on the east side situated upstairs in the space above the Store counter.  I can remember through the years whether I was in the Boy Scouts, Army, overseas traveling or just wandering around lost somewhere in the woods, always going back to this as my point of reference to determine directions.  In my mind I would visualize facing north and then know that the sun came through my bedroom window in the morning which made east to my right.

Back to the Store addition then, if you take note of the Google silhouette of the Store on the above map you’ll see an indentation on the northwest corner.  My plans were to square that off and combine the side apartment with the one in the front part of the Store.  As stated however, that’s now a non-starter.  As I did the pros and cons on this plan, one of the negatives I didn’t care for is that it would have disrupted  the front symmetry of the current Store appearance.  Granted that aesthetics and Buzzy’s aren’t exactly terms one uses in the same sentence, I just didn’t like the way it would have looked with an addition stuck onto to that side of the Store’s front.  Hence, as always, things will remain the same at Buzzy’s.  And that’s a good thing right?!
