After working on the water for a number of years, Son Shea recently started a new job with a defense contractor. He was understandably nervous about the transition that now has him working in an office and doing Dilbert kind of things.
I gave him the advice that someone gave me when I first started working for the Navy years ago: Show up 5 minutes early, keep a smile on your face and do what they tell you to do. I thought of those three tips when I saw this “Help Wanted” sign:
“Able to read your schedule” may not have been one of the tips per se that I received back then, but the bottom line is still the same – show up on time!
