In case you haven’t heard, and yes this is news you can use, Keith Richards turns 70 today. It begs the obvious question – who would ever have thought that he’d make it this far? I continue to rip off variations of his “it’s good to be here, it’s good to be anywhere” line whenever someone asks me how I’m doing.
May just have to play some X-pensive Winos tracks at Buzzy’s Country Store today in his honor. Check out this NY Times article on how he came up with the Street Fighting Man rif.
Also, here is Keith’s hate letter to Mick when they were feuding. Got to admit that this resonated with me re: some former partners who ceased to move me anymore.
