| Jack Vettriano’s The Singing Butler |
Ok, stay with me on this one.
I was half listening to the radio when I heard a voice that sounded like Tina Turner doing a Joni Mitchell tune Edith and the Kingpin. I consulted the Youtube site and found that this was Herbie Hancock’s take on Joni’s tune featuring Tina doing the vocals.
But then I caromed off in another direction as the tune’s video contained paintings that also looked familiar to me. Found that the artist was Jack Vettriano and that he was responsible for a painting (left) that I’ve seen around in the poster shops. The print always caught my eye in a “What-the-hell-is- going-on-here?” kind of way. It even makes an appearance in the video at the 5:34 mark. Video contains some PG-13 images, so check your puritanism at the door before viewing.
