And then I was doing something on best band names but only got this far:
Best band name for me also happens to be one of my favorite bands – “The Band.” (It appears at #28 on Spin Magazine’s list of 40 Best Names (click here.) Years ago I read an article on the Balimore Orioles of the 60’s and 70’s wherein the author compared the O’s to The Band: ultimate team effort, no superstars, no frills, no BS, just straight ahead fundamental playing. That sums it up for me.
