John Cook – J. Frank Raley Uniform

The J Connection – John Cook Presenting J. Frank’s Uniform to J. Scott

Continuing with my review of some recent visitors to Buzzy’s Country Store, here’s one who brought me a nice present/momento.  John Cook called me this past Saturday morning and asked if I would be interested in J. Frank’s baseball uniform and of course I said yes.

Later that afternoon John and his friend Eve Himmelheber dropped in the Store to present the uniform to me.  Ned Pratt took this photo of us (above.)  I now have it on display in the Store.  Thanks John.

Note that this is not the uniform of the St. Michael’s Ball Team (below) that I’ve discussed previously (click here.)  (A church team named “The Hustlers”?  Uh, that would be a no.)  Lindy McKay told me that the Hustlers were a County-wide team that played their home games at the first ball field that had lights in the County and it was located at the fairgrounds.  The Hustlers played in the Independent League and played teams from all over the D.C. area.
