Stumbled upon Eric Church in this review of his recording Give Me Back My Hometown (click here.)
I was semi-familiar with him from his Drink in My Hand song which is in the Buzzy Top Ten Drinking songs. (Other list members include Friends in Low Places, Honky Tonk Women, I Love This Bar, Sweet Home Alabama, Cocaine, Smoke on the Water, It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere and One Shot, One Bourbon, One Beer. And yes, I know that Cocaine isn’t really about drinking, but those of us with PhD’s in substance abuse, know full well it doesn’t matter what the drug it is, the meaning is all the same. She don’t lie.)
However, as I was sampling Eric’s Youtube collection I landed on this one of his that made me have a new found appreciation for him and his work. May just have to put this boy in the rotation.
