Dumb and Dumber, Soup and 7 Up

In the broken-clock-right-twice-a-day file: I was correct in predicting that Dumb and Dumber To would be showing at the Lexington Park Theater on its opening weekend.  So the theory lives on (click on.)

However, I do have to admit that I actually enjoyed the hell out of the first Dumb and Dumber from 20 years go.  (Wow, it’s been that long.)

I remember Son Shea was not feeling well one day,  on the couch and complaining how bad he felt. Worried about him, I called my Mom to ask her what she thought I should do.  She prescribed chicken noodle soup – true story – and 7 Up. 

Of course I didn’t have either of these in the hacienda here, so I told Shea I was going to run up to Dents’ Store to get these items and asked if he wanted anything else.  He said  “Yeah, how about going by the video store and getting Dumb and Dumber?” (At the time, Robin Guyther ran a video store just below OCI. )

I got the soup, the 7 Up and the video.  Came home, fixed Shea his Mom-prescribed medicines and popped in the video.  I then sat with him and watched the video.  I couldn’t stop laughing as we watched it.  Of all the funny/dumb scenes in the movie, I remember this one best:
