Just received my 2015 Budweiser calendars from Guy Distributing and have the two of them installed where they have always hung in Buzzy’s Country Store. I never knew the reason as to why there are two such calendars on display in the Store, until I took up full time occupancy behind the counter.
From the vantage point behind the counter, I have found that the Bud calendar on the post is the go-to one whenever I need to note the date. I am fairly sure that Buzzy, being a man who believed in the economy of motion and effort, figured this out long ago and had a second one installed there. Kind of like State Farm’s good neighbor, the post calendar is always there as any easy reference point.
The second Bud calendar resides over the side door leading out to the office area of the Store. (My office desk sits right next to the walkin beer box. Other than liquor store owners, not too many folks can say that.) That calendar serves as a reference point for anyone in the Store standing around or in front of the counter.
Had to smile the other day when looking thru the Evans Employee Alumni site on Facebook. I came upon this photo posted by Carol Evans. It is a nice picture of Bugs, with I think Ronnie and Swannie. However, what caught my eye was in the center of the photo – the good ole Budweiser calendar proudly on display.
The third calendar on display in Buzzy’s is the one that I still have to hide from my Mom whenever she comes into the Store – the Sports Illy swim suit issue. Mom will reprimand me for having it up with a comment such as “This looks like something your father would have had up in here.” While she means it as a criticism, fact is I always feel kind of honored when she says that. Wonder what Mom would say about showing you Kelly Brooks’ behind the scenes video of the making of her calendar.
