Re: my previous post about Rob Roberts stashing old boats etc. at his place on Curley Road, here is a success story from him doing so.
I’ve previously mentioned the history of race boat Rowdy II and how Beale and Bart set a record in it. After its boating racing success however, the Rowdy eventually came to be a resident of the Triangle Motors junked club (click here.)
Beale’s boat racing buddy Bill Edwards contacted Rob a couple years ago, reclaimed the Rowdy II and passed it along to Beale’s son Duane. Beale then took it to Florida with him to fix up. He recently sent me these photo’s of the Rowdy along with this note:
“Despite boat being 46 years old, multiple owners abusing it, near death in the junkyard, Rowdy II lives again.”
