Twofer Tuesday – Vintage Buzzy and Hitchcock

Continuing with my phone call theme, here are two items for you.

Someone in Buzzy’s Country Store this past weekend asked me about the “Wife calls” sign and wanted to know if it was still around.  I dug it out and showed it to them.

I’ve previously discussed the back ground to this sign (click here) but it always amuses me that of all the things and legacies that Buzzy is responsible for starting, the “Wife calls” sign still gets remembered at least once or twice a year by a visitor or two to the Store.  Usually they will spend some time talking about how they first came into the Store, how Buzzy greeted them, and how much they enjoyed the place etc..  Then they will say something like “And he had this old sign up that said “If the wife calls you got to buy a round.”  They always get a charge out of it when I dig out the sign and then tell them that I retired it because I wanted the wives and girlfriends in the Store.

Part two of phone calls,  involves this video starring Linda Fiorentino.  I thought of her just the other day, did some Youtubing on her and found this little Alfred Hitchcock video about a Late Night Phone Caller.  Ah yes, the good old days when you could get away with making anonymous phone calls.
