I rolled with Desperate Housewives for a couple of seasons after they first hit the scene in 2004. However, somewhere along the line my ADD kicked in and I lost interest – I think when Gabrielle stopped banging the yard boy.
Years later, when the DH writers introduced a new housewife, Renee, played by Vanessa Williams, I started watching it again.
From her first arrival on the scene (remember the Miss America resignation business) Vanessa had me at hello or maybe more accurately had me at “nude photos.” After losing the Miss America crown however, no matter what she did, I kept up with her. Saw her movies, bought her CD’s, and watched her in Ugly Betty. In my rankings of female stars, there’s Vanessa and then there’s everyone else.
So naturally when she dropped into my Sunday nights on DH, I was back to watching it for the final couple seasons.
