The Sinatra song World War None in the previous post, led me to this USA article on the increase of folks who, when asked to categorize their religious affiliation, checked the “None” block (click here.) Talk about hitting a little too close to home.
Eight years down the road since the Catholic Church kicked me out the door because I got remarried, I still wonder – how’d that happen? As long as Pam and I were shacking up and “living in sin” I was in the club and good to go as far as receiving the sacraments and being a member of the faith. However, as soon as I said “I do” now I can’t as in receive the sacraments and am deemed to be no longer a full up member. (A case could be made that since I was a half-assed Catholic to begin with, they were just officially certifying my status anyway.)
Still, there are some Sundays, when driving past Holy Face Church, that I find myself kind of missing those old Dominus Vobiscums.
There is only one song to sum this up right?
