Music and Passion (and Fireworks Too)

This time of year, the question of the day in Buzzy’s Country Store is “Where do you watch fireworks?”  It is always a mixed bag of answers as South County folks will defer to the College’s  Friday nite river front gig while mid-County folks talk Solomon’s and Hollywood Firehouse on the 4th.  For the most part, folks will mumble something about sitting in their back yards and watching their crazy neighbors light off hundreds of dollars worth of semi-legal fireworks. 

Got me wondering how the whole 4th of July fireworks thing came to be.  I learned that we have John Adams to thank for all this commotion (click here.) .  (Not our Second District Johnny Adams but some other guy who was our second President.)

Then again, you can do like millions of other folks and watch the Capitol 4th Show on T-V.  Got to warn you though, Barry Manilow is scheduled to perform.
