Today is National Dog Day. I am not a big pet person but for all you pet lovers out there, be sure to give your Fido a bone for me today. (Seems to me that every day is national dog day now that I think about it because dogs got it made. Wouldn’t you agree that dogs are much more needy than kids are when it comes to feeding, caring, and having to look after them?)

But ironically, today is also Women’s Equality Day (click here.) (I guess if I were doing the pc thing here, I should have mentioned this first before the dog day lead. But you know what, frankly, I don’t have time for political correctness and neither does our country, ok never mind, you get the point.)
The woman’s suffrage amendment was signed into law on the 26th of August 1920 and became the 19th amendment to our Constitution. Now as far as how Dog Day wormed its way into also being celebrated today, that’s a good question. Wonder if someone with a warped sense of humor purposely selected Dog Day to coincide with Woman’s Suffrage Day?
