A recent issue of Sports Illy had a good article on Ravens’ offensive lineman John Urschel who, contrary to the dumb-as-an-oyster footballer, is actually a math genius. Excerpts from the article follow:
But when he was a little kid in elementary school, John’s teacher mistook his quiet disinterest in math to be a sign of him not being up to speed enough and wanted to hold him back a year. (Wonder if Sister Gregory was ever in the Buffalo School system.) However, John’s Mom said no and turns out that he was disinterested because he was bored.
Tonite in a Sophie’s Choice match up, the Patriots play the Steelers. Being a Ravens fan, I should be rooting for the Cheatriots but just can’t bring myself to do that. Go Steelers!
