From last Saturday’s birthday party for Nancy and Andy, Karen White sent me this video featuring the last song Polock played:
Remember how the Sha Na Na boys closed their shows?
And probably the most famous closer of them all – Jimi at Woodstock sliding from the Star Spangled Banner into Purple Haze (4:38 mark.) Still get a rush every time I hear it.
Note: Hendrix actually played a couple more tunes after this Banner/Haze combo but this is the performance everyone remembers from the movie’s end (click here.)
