Super Bowl “15”

Super Bowl and some trivia for you.  Of  the last 15 Super Bowls (from 2001 thru today’s) the conference quarterback summary goes as follows.  The AFC has been represented by only 3 quarterbacks in 13 of the 15 Super Bowls played:  Brady (6), Manning (4) and Rothlisberger (3.)  The NFC on the other hand has had 11 different quarterbacks with only Eli Manning (2) and Russell Wilson (2) having gone more than once.

And in a simple but nice twist of fate – the 2 AFC quarterbacks, other than the Big 3 listed above, to have gone to the Super Bowl in the last 15 years both played their college ball for the Blue Hens at the University of Delaware.  Rich Gannon led the Raiders to the 2002 Super Bowl and Joe Flacco led the Ravens in 2012.  (Flacco and the Ravens had to defeat both Manning and Brady in playoff games to get to the Super Bowl.)

The moral of all this?  If you want to be an NFL QB and lead your team to a Super Bowl, your odds for doing so are much better if you plan on attending the University of Delaware and then play for an NFC vs. an AFC team.
