First the Pope and then Obama visit Cuba to warm up the crowds. So you knew the bigger acts wouldn’t be far behind. Enter Mick and the boys as the Stones played in Havana this past Good Friday. (Yes, Sympathy for the Devil was on the playlist (click here.)
Unlike the Stones’ China tour in 2014, none of their songs were censored by the Cuban government as far as I know. In 2014 the Chinese would not allow the Stones to do Brown Sugar, Beast of Burden, Let’s Spend the Night Together, Honky Tonk Women and Rough Justice (click here.) Never thought of Beast of Burden as being censor-worthy. Rough Justice? What’s wrong with that one?
Regarding the whole Cuba thing however, still can’t understand why for all these years it was ok for us to have had relations and trade with Communist China located half way round the world and not have anything to do with Communist Cuba located only 90 miles south of us. Good article here on the subject (click here.)
