All of the Trump driven b.s. about whether to say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays pales in comparison to two other greetings that I think should be banned.
The first has nothing to do with any religious beliefs or lack of on my part, but whenever someone tells me “Have a blessed day” I just shrug and say what my kids used to say to me “Yeah. Whatever.” I am not sure why “Have a Blessed Day” makes me want to throw up on the person saying it, but it does.
The other greeting that gets to me is someone, upon learning that I was in the Army, will then say “Thank you for your service.” Simple fact is, I didn’t really do anything worth thanking me for. Plus I hated being in the Army. Check out this article discussing this whole issue (click here) and you will see that I am not alone in this sentiment.
