While the Queen of Hearts was being won Friday evening at the Ridge American Legion, Buzzy’s Country Store had a couple of visitors in from Italy – Anna and Alessandro. They dropped in for a beer while out and about exploring the area. Anna is from Milan, Italy and Alessandro from Turin, Italy.
They informed me that they had flown into New York the day before and drove down to attend the Budd’s Creek Motocross event being held Saturday. While staying in Waldorf, they decided to ride south and check things out.
Not up on the comings and goings of Motocross events, I learned from them that Budd’s Creek was holding a world championship race Saturday that was part of the overall Lucas Oil Championship.
After some research, I learned that Bud’s Creek is one of the premier stops for Motocross racing. The following is from the Lucas Oil website:
I checked out Anna’s FB page and it appears from these photos that she too is a motocross racer.
My thanks to Anna and Alessandro for helping me to learn about how the whole Motocross thing is such a big deal right here in the County. It is so big that people will come from all over the world to check it out. You never know what’s right here in your back yard do you?
