Every so often someone at the counter will see and comment on the Terra Cotta Soldier displayed on the desk behind me in Buzzy’s Country Store:
I will then tell them about Buzzy and me seeing the soldiers when we visited Xian, China in 2002.
Just the other day I found this post card Buzzy sent back home documenting our visit:
(His mentioning a night flight also rekindled a memory or two which I will relay some other time.)
Buzzy must have been impressed with these soldiers because not only did he purchase the replica above but also he bought a book signed by one of the farmers who supposedly discovered the soldiers. I say supposedly because there are stories of a fake farmer signing books for tourists (click here.) Whether Buzzy’s signer was a fake doesn’t matter because it still makes for a good story.
As for Chinese music, most of it is not my cup of tea but this one here featuring the soldiers isn’t too bad. (Sounds a little like Ghost Riders in the Sky doesn’t it?)
