Buzzy Withdrawals

Barbara Demko sent me this nice message the other day:

Thank you Barb!

It has been one week now since I closed Buzzy’s Country Store and I’m still trying to adjust accordingly.  My usual routine for the last 13 years used to be putzing around the house during the a.m. doing a project or two and then around 11 o’clock or so I would break for lunch.  I would eat lunch and then head out down to open up Buzzy’s.

So in my new routine here of staying home, my mornings are still pretty much what they were.  However, come the early afternoon I begin doing some Buzzy-withdrawal somersaults.  While my inner clock is telling me “Hey, we should be outta here” I am trying to decide just what it is I am going to be doing the rest of my afternoon.

Big picture, I miss the whole Buzzy Store thing.  However, what I find myself really missing are the little things that I have become accustomed to doing.  For instance, I miss the half hour drive down the road.  I miss visiting my Mom en route to the Store.  I miss opening the Store and doing all the little things that go into running it.   And most of all, I miss seeing and interacting with all of my Buzzy friends at the Store.  Too, I miss being in Ridge/Scotland every day.  Overall,  I just miss the whole Buzzy vibe and my routine assoicated with it.

Thus, I’m learning some new dance steps here on the stage of life.  You know the old saying – life goes on.

P.S.  After I thanked her for her note, Barbara responded with “All this will call for a party when it’s over Buzzy’s Style.”  Amen.  I’m already planning it.
