Rosalind P. Walker. Who is she and just how and why did she make it onto the Buzzyblog? Here’s the rest of the story.
Yesterday as I tooled around looking for info on the Don’t Mess With Texas Public Service Announcement, I landed on a Washington Post summary of the ten best PSA’s of all time (click here.) Don’t Mess With Texas did not make the Top Ten list, but clocking in at #10 was the following:
| Rosie the Riveter |
It made me think “Didn’t I just see something about the lady who posed for that poster?” Turns out that I had. One quick Google search and enter Ms. Walker. Or maybe should that read “Exit Ms. Walker” because she died in March of this year at the age of 95 (click here.) I must have seen one of those news summaries that dole out one liner notes about things like that.
P.S. As for songs about Rosies think I still prefer Bruce’s Rosie as in Rosalita. It’s tough to top any song that has an an opening line “Spread out now Rosie….” (click here.)
