Did you know that March is Women’s History Month? (No jokes please that it coincides with March Madness too.)
Related to this topic, the other day as I was heading down to Buzzy’s Country Store, I noticed this historical marker positioned in front of the St. Mary’s City Post Office:
I thought “Gee, how come I’ve never noticed that? I’ve driven down this road probably a couple thousand times or so in my lifetime, and I have never really noticed, much less read this marker. I really am losing it.” My consolation was “Well, I never noticed it when I supposedly was still on my game, so it’s a moot issue.” (As you get older, you will find that more and more of your issues become mooted.)
Well, no so fast there, struggler. I did some research here and learned that this marker has only been in place for a couple of years (click here.) Granted, I still hadn’t noticed it in that time, but in my defense, I have been cutting thru Rt. 489 to avoid driving thru the College and really hadn’t noticed it the few times that I have driven thru there. That I finally did notice it is a good thing I guess. Here is a photo/blurb from an October 2019 Enterprise article.

Granted, Ziggy was not exactly talking bout women’s voting rights here, but at least he’s got the title right, so voila:
