First Game/First Tip/First Win

Grandsons Blaise and Stone attended their first Ravens’ football game yesterday as Brady and I made the trek to B’more to catch Lamar and Company beat up on the Lions. (My thanks to Brian Barnhill and Chris Bender for honchoing the Buzzy counter while I was away on a “business trip” doing some price comparisons. Did you know that the street vendors around the ball park are selling beers and miniatures of Fireball for $5 a pop? And here I thought $2.50 was a good profit!)

The Ravens offer a First Game Certificate and button at their Guest Services so that was our first stop once we were inside “The Bank” aka M&T Stadium. Here are some photos I took:

After I had taken my photos, a Ravens’ assistant offered to take one with me in it. She teased me that I was taking her job as official photographer.

I then gave Blaise a couple dollars to give the lady who initially refused to take it. I teased her back by saying “Work with me here. I’m trying to teach this boy some important life lessons about the art of tipping.” She smiled and took the money.

As for the game itself, the Ravens broke loose for a change and made it a non-contest up 28-0 at half. However, Brady and I, being the pessimistic fans that we are, discussed just how they could screw this up in the second half. Turns out that they held tough though and won going away 38-6. (For those of you who thought that this would be a defensive battle and took the under at 43, I feel your pain.)

Leaving the ball park we walked thru a nice neighborhood all decorated for Halloween. Couple photos here:

Bobby Boris Pickett only had one hit record. However, it gets played every Halloween maybe even more so than other Halloween hits such as Thriller and Ghostbusters. It’s that much a classic. “When you get to my door, tell them Boris sent you.”
