Check out this photo from the Vintage Baseball FB page;

Cy Young was from the Peoli area in Ohio, retired there following his illustrious baseball career and is buried in the Peoli Cemetery (click here.)
But what really caught my eye in the photo above is that obviously the Peoli Post Office was part of a country store. Look closely and you will note the tires, cases of soda bottles along with signs for Pepsi and Kool cigarettes. The sign on the door shows the hours that they were opened and closed. However, judging from all the stuff stacked in front of the door, it was not being used to enter/leave the Post Office. Elementary Watson, there was a store along with the Post Office. (I have mentioned previously how the Scotland Post Office was at one time located in Buzzy’s Country Store back when my Grandfather Harry Raley owned it and my Grandmother Anna was the Post Master (click here.))
While I am not entirely certain that a country store was also part of the Peoli Post Office, I am 100% sure that Morgan Wallen topped the 2023 charts with the following tune. It was Number 1 for 16 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100 as it bounced in and out of that spot five times from March thru August of this year (click here.)Sure was a long last night.
