
Yesterday’s Buzzyblog post featured a North Carolina country store that Dorothea Lange photographed. After some internetting, I was able to land on the following article about the store Dorothea made famous. (Well, at least in country store circles she did.) The article that contained these photos and excerpts is worth a read as it describes not only the history of the area and the Baynes Country Store, but also discusses many of the people who started and operated the store (click here.) Most every listing of Famous Iconic American Photos will include Dorothea’s Migrant Mother photo which I have previously mentioned here on the Buzzyblog.
Of course, despite how acclaimed and well liked that Migrant Mom may be, you know that I am still most partial to Dorothea’s Country Store photo(s.)
