Those of you of a certain age will get the reference “To the moon Alice.” (If you don’t get it, hit the ole google machine.) I cite that because today here on the Buzzyblog, we’re going to do some star gazing. So, heads up – literally!
As I was tooling around these past couple days checking out where the March “in-like-a-lion-out-like-a-lamb” business originated, most of the articles and explanations I came upon noted that it was based on the weather trends thru March: rough and tough at the start but then nicer as the month goes on.
However, I also found that there is a celestial explanation of this phrase involving the constellations Leo and Aries. This from a 2021 CNN article:

I knew that Aries sign was at the end of March and first of April because my son Shea (birthday 7 April) is an Aries.
However, mentioning the Leo Constellation as being on the rise in March made me curious as to why the Zodiac has the first of March as Pisces and the Leo sign is later in July-August.
The 15 minutes “research” I did quickly landed me lost in the stars. Discussions of the differences between astrology and astronomy, how the 12 Zodiac signs were laid out, the rising and setting of planets and constellations and something called axial precession totally confused me. I gave up trying to figure out just why Leo is rising in March.
However, I did manage to find this excellent video telling all about the Leo Constellation and how to find it.
As for trying to see Leo from here in Maryland (or for that matter wherever you may be) check out this website (click here.)
Finishing where I started, I did manage to land on this tune:
Weather is nice and Buzzy’s is open. No stars are needed to guide you. You know what to do.
