Followup to yesterday’s post on the new Buzzy’s Country Store posts.
I received a couple of comments from folks requesting that I ensure that the Buzzy Grab Bar be retained. They were referring to the grab bar that Pat Adams graciously donated and installed on the post nearest the front door (and hence is the one most used by folks as they steady themselves up the Store steps.) And yes, plans are to reinstall the grab bar in its current location once the new post is in place.

Regarding the color green for the new posts, I am going back to the original dark green. if you look closely at the mid-section of the above post, or better still at the front part of the porch cement slab, you can see remnants of the former dark green. Pat Guy and I waded thru Ridge True Value’s Easy Care paint color selection yesterday to land on a darker shade of green titled Ballfield Green. Springtime, baseball couple weeks away, thinking about a glimpse of green named Ballfield, let’s just say that the decision was an “easy” one. (Hey, Easy Care, knowing that your sales will now sky rocket, don’t forget to mail me a check for this Buzzyblog endorsement/commercial.)

And speaking of going back, Eddie Green came to mind and so did that other Eddie named Money. (Actually, Money’s real name growing up was Mahoney.)
One other followup to yesterday’s post. I mentioned how Buzzy had installed the Welcome Signs for Oriental visitors to the area. Someone informed that the term “Oriental” is now taboo. I started to go back (get it?) and update the description to read “Asian visitors.” However, I ultimately decided to wait until some Oriental, I mean person of Asian descent, logs a complaint to me about it being offensive and then change it. Remember the It’s Hard Out Here For a Pimp when you’re trying to get the money for the rent tune? Well, my version would be “It’s Hard Out Here on a Ridge Boy” when trying to keep up with what is and what is not considered offensive anymore.
