Two Eclipses

Twofer Tuesday, so let’s go to the moon Alice as in looking at an eclipse that was and one that will be.

Sunday night, early Monday morning when prowling around in the after-midnight hours, I noticed the Full Moon and how big it looked. Curious about it, I hit the Google thingy and learned that it is the Worm Moon and because of the way that it is nearer the Earth’s horizon therefore appears bigger than other full moons.

As I read on, I learned that this year’s Worm Moon also had some added significance because it was scheduled to be undergoing a lunar eclipse (click here.) (Note, if you’re feeling like you missed something here, don’t worry about it because it wasn’t much to see.)

However, the folks in the know about these sky-watching matters are saying that in two weeks time there will be a total solar eclipse and that one will be worth checking out (click here.) Set for 8 April, the eclipse’s “path of totality” will pass to the north of us, so I’m not sure what all that means. However, I have no doubts we will be hearing more about it as we get closer to that event. Stay tuned.

Note also, that in looking for info on this, I landed on an article (click here) that tells how the Worm Moon affects one’s zodiac info. For example, mine for Aquarius advised me to not make any key decisions about important matters. I viewed this as another reason to postpone deciding whether or not to have this elective surgery that I have been going back and forth on having done. Thank you Worm Moon, maybe your lunar eclipse was not so nondescript after all.

Gaynor Sullivan, whom you know as Bonnie Tyler, had the big hit with Total Eclipse of the Heart. However, I think I liked her other Heart song a little more probably because Eclipse was so overplayed that I got tired of hearing it.
