I sold two bags of ice last week on Tuesday shortly after I had opened Buzzy’s Country Store. Note that a few weeks back, I notched my first ice sale of the year to a lady whom I think mis-interpreted my joke to her. As I unlocked the ice box to retrieve the ice for her, I told her “This is my first ice sale of the year. You can tell people that you were my first.” When she neither smiled at nor acknowledged the joke, I quickly gave her the ice and thanked her. Maybe someday I will learn that I just can’t pull off sexual double entendre humor.
So even if the two ice sales on Tuesday were not my first ones of the year, the fact that I sold two on Tuesday made me smile and think “OK got next Tuesday’s Twofer in the chamber.” Turns out that the ice sales were only the first of a couple more twofers that were about to head my Buzzyville way.
On Tuesday, members of the Corbett/Hammett family visited Buzzy’s following burial services at St. Michael’s for their Aunt Pat (click here for her obit.) Tom Corbett, his sister Sharon and brother Jim stopped by. Their parents and other family members are buried at St. Micahael’s. (Since my Great Grandmother Sarah was a Hammett, I always note to Tom and his family that somewhere along the line we too must be related.)
What I did not realize on Tuesday is that two days later Buzzy’s would host a second post-funeral get-together when members of the Pulliam family dropped in following services for Troy Pulliam (click here for his obit.)
While members of the Pulliam family and friends sat out on the porch enjoying the nice weather, my daughter Reagan, visiting Pax from San Diego, brought her E-2 FMS Team down to Buzzy’s. With the Pulliams on the porch and Reagan’s work partners inside the Store, it was a busy and fun time. It prompted some of my “Every dayers” to ask me as they rolled in “What’s going on?” I told them “Just another day at Buzzy’s. I never know what to expect.” I then went on to explain the two very different Buzzy gatherings going on simultaneously.

In addition to ice sales, another sign of the season, as in the election season, are visits to Buzzy’s from politicos running for office. In keeping with my twofer week of firsts, I had two visits from candidates this past week. Saturday, Judge Amy Lorenzini stopped in and then Sunday Josh Guy came by.
Judge Amy is running to retain her Judgeship that Governor Hogan appointed her to in May 2022. Josh is running for the at large seat on the County’s School Board. Unlike most politico hit-and-run visists, both Judge Amy and Josh pulled up a chair and stayed for an extended period of time conversing with my Buzzy folks. (Note that Maryland’s Primary is set for 14 May (click here for more info.)

And concluding my week of twofers, on Sunday, my two favorite sisters Joan and Linda dropped in to say hello. Always fun catching up with them!
Speaking of twofers, music wise this one is usually somewhere on the lists of all time Best Duets:
