Definition: minor surgery is that which is done to someone else. When it is done to you, it is major surgery.
I know several folks who have either recently had some sort of surgical procedure done or are about to do so. Most of them told me their doctor tended to downplay the procedure by telling them it was considered either “minor surgery” or very close to being considered minor surgery. When they told me this, I recited the above quote/joke to them.
However, it did make wonder about the overall differentiation in the medical world between what is considered to be major and/or minor surgery. I found several articles on the world wide web that attempted to clarify what is minor and what is major (click here.) For example there was this breakdown:

But then I also stumbled upon this discussion which noted that distinctions between the two are unclear.

Think I will stick with my above quote/definition that they are all major surgeries.
Musically, here is this classic Band tune discussing a traveling medicine show. I always liked and appreciated how Levon and Danko’s voices complemented one another as they do so in this tune. Features some great lyrics including the break verse (1:45) “I’d rather die happy than not die at all, and a man is a fool who will not heed the call.” Think about it.
Orioles play the Blue Jays today at 1235. The scheduled starting pitcher for Toronto is Espino. Hopefully, the O’s will perform some major hitting surgery on him. Game will be on at Buzzy’s, so drop by if you are out and about.
