4 Birthdays and A Lot of Fun

Saturday featured 4 birthdays celebrated at Buzzy’s Country Store. Some photos here to commemorate the Buzzy party in their honor.

The four birthday celebrants:

CJ Little, Karen Leach, Rita Weaver and JW Raley

Seeing as how this was a big birthday for JW, as it had a 0 in it, several of his family members surprised him by joining in. JW knew that his Buzzy friends would be on hand, but he was definitely surprised when he walked in to see several of his family to include his sisters Betty Jean and Amy in attendance also. Always nice when the surprise party really IS a surprise.

Here are CJ, Karen and JW blowing out the candles (only 2) and about to cut the birthday cake. (Rita, still in a post-op mode stayed out on the porch. In case you didn’t know, Rita had triple bypass surgery a couple weeks ago. Thus, her birthday venture to Buzzy’s marked her first outing since her procedure so she was still in a “Be careful” mode. Glad she was able to make it for the quartet birthday Buzzy party. (Makes me think perhaps we need to start up a Buzzy’s “First Post-op Party” gig.)

My thanks to everyone who attended and in particular to David Norris who had been up at the College earlier in the day playing music at the Governor’s Cup party. Appreciate him doing his version of a South County twofer and dropping in to play some music for our Buzzy birthday party.

Jennifer Adkins sent me this photo as David sang the following tune that I tried to make a video of him doing:

My thanks also to John Hamill for sending me these photos that he took later in the evening:

I am sure that you probably missed it, but my title for today’s Buzzyblog post was a poor attempt at copying the “4 Weddings and a Funeral” movie title. Not only was the movie pretty good and one I enjoyed watching, but it also was the last movie Soundtrack that I ever purchased (click here.) (Back in the day when I watched alot of movies if the soundtrack appealed to me, I would track it down and purchase it.)

This 4 minute tune from Wet Wet Wet below pretty much captures the entire 2 hour “4 Weddings” movie for you. Interesting footnote on the tune – it is a remake of a tune originally written and done by Reg Presely of The Troggs’ who are most famous for having done “Wild Thing.” Talk about two completely different tunes.
