Baseball and Breton Bay

Grandsons Blaise and Stoney had their first baseball games of the season on Saturday.

I got these photos of Blaise at his early morning game waiting to bat and eventually scoring his first run of the season.

Mom Caitie got these photos of Stoney in action at his afternoon game:

I told Stoney that I promise to be at his next game.

Later Saturday evening, Pam and I joined Karen and Tom Russell and friends for dinner at Fitzie’s. The Fitzie motto is right on: “Fitzie’s – where the only thing better than the food is the view.” To that I would add “the view and the company.”

Later, there was this moon over Breton Bay:

Sounds like a song doesn’t it?

Brings up a little trivia question here for you: in addition to the Chesapeake, how many other Bays does St. Mary’s County have? (And Old Bay does not qualify as one of them!) I came up with six including these 3 smaller ones in South County.

The three big boy bays as in Chaptico, St. Clements and Breton Bays are in the northern part of the county.

Only know of two bay jokes and both are on the lame side:

If a seabird is called a sea gull, does that mean a bay bird is called a baygull?

My friend asked if he could see the bay in Virginia. I told him he could have Chesapeake of it. https://www.youtube.com/embed/fRs0OqV4uSc?si=88-mkFtt_0GQhVmv
