Fomentor Lighthouse in Spain

From my daily “Dynamic Scenes” screen saver, there was this great photo and description of the Fomentor Lighthouse.

Makes me want to pay it a visit. On second thought – maybe not:

Like someone once said about Point Lookout Lighthouse “You got to want to go there to get there because it’s not on the way to anything else.”

I always liked this Three Dog Night tune written by Hoyt Axton mostly because of the lyric about being “born in Oklahoma.” (For those of you who don’t know this about me, I was born in Enid Oklahoma. Never been back there, but it is on my TTDBID list to do so.) There is this bit of trivia about the song that I learned of just now:

Funny, but I always did think that that “not Arizona” line sounded kinda dumb; now I know why!

You know Three Dog’s take on it, but check this out from the King. More trivia for you – did you know that Elvis never performed overseas? The story goes that his manager the Colonel did not have a passport so he never booked Elvis anywhere outside the U.S. (click here.) Just think, Elvis could have been singing “Well I never been to Spain because the Colonel wouldn’t let me!”
