Weekend Events

What’s the old saying – every dog has his day, but when you cut off his tail he has a weak end?

Well, this weekend there are all sorts of things going on throughout the County ranging from Corn Mazes to a Wheels and Wings Car Show. (For more info on these and additional events (click here.)

Going on today, the Ridge Lions Club is sponsoring the following to help support the folks impacted by Hurricane Helene:

Collection will take place until noon today at the following locations. (Note that donations continue to be accepted up to 4 pm at a couple of locations:)

Then there are these upcoming events in South County:

Saturday you can visit the Home Grown Market in Hermanville and then hit the Brown Bag Auction at the Ridge Firehouse.:

And on Monday, we celebrate Charlie Simms hitting 98.

I am also including the following event that is set for next Sunday the 13th, but has a 6 October deadline date for tickets and table reservations.

Also, note that the Ridge American Legion has resumed their Sunday Turkey Shoots:

See what I did there? I went from the dogs to the turkeys, but did manage to cover alot of events in between!

Hate to do this to you, but that mention of Charlie turning 98 made me think of this dog of a song. Now, if for some strange, unexplained reason you happen to like this tune, well, enjoy it because it will never be repeated here on the Buzzyblog. Gotta say however, that I never knew until now that there was a Keith and Frank Zappa connection (click here.) So while I still don’t particularly care for 98.6, Keith himself just went up in my opinion. (As for the video here accompanying the song, not sure just how Jefferon Airplane parachuted in there, but it does make the video, if not the song, worth checking out.)
