Thanks to my friend Pat Stover for coming up with the idea of a Buzzy gift card, Buzzy Bucks continue to be used as gifts and presents for folks.

I recently received a request from someone residing in Florida who wanted to send his Aunt here in the Ridge area a gift card from Buzzy’s. He said that he had heard how much his Aunt enjoyed visiting Buzzy’s, so he wanted to get a Buzzy gift card for her.
After telling him about “Buzzy Bucks” I emailed him the above form and approved it for the amount he requested. He then sent me his credit card info and the deal was done.
I always think of and thank Pat for coming up with the idea for Buzzy Bucks. He first designed it as a birthday present to give to Marcia Raley several years ago. He designed the above form and I’ve used it ever since on numerous occasions.
I recall one of my Buzzy friends in the Store voicing some reservations about going to a friends’ birthday party because he didn’t have a present. After I told him he should go anyway he said “Naw, I don’t feel right going to a birthday party and not taking a gift.” I then suggested that he give his friend “Buzzy Bucks.” He liked the idea, paid me $25 and after I slid a form in an envelope, off he went to the party.
Couple days later, the birthday recipient was in Buzzy’s and said to me “I received this Buzzy Bucks thing as a present. What the hell is that?” After I explained it to him, he said “Awright! Ring the bell and give everybody a drink!” Buzzy Bucks – the gift that keeps on giving!
Others have used Buzzy Bucks as a Farewell Gift to give to folks at their going away parties. Interestingly enough, only a few of these going away gifts ever get redeemed back in Buzzy’s. I don’t know if it is because folks are leaving the area and don’t have the time, think it was some kind of a joke or that they just don’t want to drive all the way down to Buzzy’s to redeem it; but many of these gifts go unredeemed.
Turns out that I am not the only merchant who benefits from unredeemed gift cards. I found out the following when I asked the ole Google machine “What percentage of gift cards go unredeemed:”

So, again, thank you Pat, for coming up with the idea of a Buzzy Bucks’ gift card!
Musically, I know I told you we were done with Christmas tunes, but this one fit today’s topic so well that I couldn’t resist passing it along here for you. (Dirty old man that I am, those sexy ladies bopping around in the skimpy outfits helped seal the deal.)
