Sometimes referred to as the best weekend in all of sports, starting this afternoon the NFL features 4 games all of which should be worth checking out. This will mark the last Saturday with any NFL football for this season, so enjoy it!
Today’s two games, according to the gambling boys, are projected to be the most lopsided of the 4 scheduled as both Texas and Washington are 8.5 underdogs.
I heard a tout on one of those betting sites giving his 5 Star Bet of the Day advising to take the points on both dogs today. (For you non-gambling folks, that means if you were to bet on both Texas and Washington to win, you would have 8.5 points to start the game with.)
I don’t usually put a lot stock in these “Lock of Day” type bets, but this advice seems valid to me. Divisional round games are usually close and there is some stat floating around about Divisional round favorites of 7 or more rarely if ever covering. (Plus there is also something about there always being at least one upset of a favorite in these 4 games.)
Commanders come in hot having won 6 in a row, 5 of which in the 4th quarter. Plus, their quarterback Jayden has made all the right moves along with a name that begins with J. I’m all in on the former Skins/WFTers. (Having said this about the J name connection, I just realized that Josh Allen meets that insightful betting logic too. Uh-oh! Maybe that’s the upset to bet on – Bills over Ravens who are a 1.5 favorite. Naw, imho, Lamar and the Poe Boys are gonna roll all over Josh and the Bills.
At Buzzy’s, we have a friendly pool going on for tonight’s Commanders/Lions game. KC/Texans game will be on the Buzzy T-V starting at 4:30.

Baseball-wise, check out this good interview with Bob Costas discussing Bob Uecker who passed away the other day. (Watching it however, did make me pause a little seeing Brooks laughing it up (00:39 mark) at Uecker’s 2003 HoF introduction.)
