A Great Friday at Buzzy’s

While official Good Friday is still several weeks away (April 18th to be precise,) this past Friday was not just a good one, but a Great Friday at Buzzy’s Country Store.

Buzzy always maintained that the best parties are always the impromptu ones, the ones that just happen to happen. That was certainly the case last Friday afternoon with the weather being nice and folks out and about having a good time and enjoying themselves.

Then again, it is always a fun and an upbeat time whenever Buzzy’s Leonardtown friends drop in for a visit. My thanks to Tom Russell for organizing the visit as he advised me in a heads-up text message whenever these fellas get off the reservation, it’s on! Couple photos here for you:

Also accompanying Tom, Glenn and Wayne was Al Gough who is shown here relaxing out on Buzzy’s front porch with Bob Mann.

My Second District neighbor Eileen Moore and her Aunt Carol Edick had also picked Friday to make a Buzzy’s run. Here they are posing with Pat.

And along with all this, Friday was also my buddy Pat Guy’s 74th birthday. I always tease Pat that if he keeps trying to do so, he may yet catch up with me. Recall that I hit 74 just a couple of weeks ago.

Somewhere along the line, a delivery guy stopped into the Store for a drink and asked me as he paid for his item “What’s going on here? What’s the occasion? Everybody’s partying, laughing and joking and it’s only two o’clock in the afternoon.” I told him that it was similar to that hockey saying “I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out” only here the saying goes “I went to Buzzy’s and a party broke out.” He laughed and said “I wish I could stay and join you all.” I told “Come back when you can stay awhile.”

Here is a rock n roll trivia question that you may or may not know – name the shortest song ever to hit Number 1 on Billboard’s charts:

Catch the irony? The shortest song involves a plea for one to stay around a little longer. Go figure. Oh, won’t you please!
